About Me
Hello, I'm Jayde! My love for animals has been a lifelong passion.
I have experience working in pet shops and veterinary clinics, and I previously ran my own rat and mouse rescue, for which I was nominated as Young Achiever of the Year. From 2014 to 2016, I bred and hand-raised a diverse range of birds, with a few more in the subsequent years.
I hold a few animal-related qualifications, including a Cert II in Veterinary Nursing, Animal Behaviour and Welfare Certificate, and an RSPCA Animal First Aid Certificate. I am committed to continuing my education to stay updated and provide the best care for your pets and currently studying behaviour and care courses.
Throughout my life, I've owned a variety of animals, currently, I have 2 Pomeranians, 7 bantam chickens, 5 mice, 2 guppy fish, 3 guinea pigs, and 1 red-tailed black cockatoo.

I began offering bird services in 2013 when community members sought someone experienced to handle wing and nail clipping without a vet visit. This initial service soon expanded to include care for rats, mice, guinea pigs, and more, as I recognized the growing demand. While I'm not a veterinarian and do not offer surgical services, I can perform basic health checks, provide advice on diet, behaviour, training, and groom your pets. Additionally, I offer boarding for certain small animals in my home for your peace of mind while you’re away.
Currently, I provide these services full-time, allowing me to be a stay-at-home mom my 4.5-year-old daughter, who shares my love for animals, and my 18-month-old son! For regular updates, feel free to join my Critter Cave Facebook group and follow us on social media.
